Cape Dory Typhoon Half Hull #2

Just some quick photos of the half hull project.  The next step will be to start skinning the project.  I am building it on a piece of balsa and plan to transfer the it to a finished piece of oak later.

  2. Stay tuned if this works out I'm going to do a full scale model and experiment with rigging. Perhaps a ketch.

  3. I like the idea but am not much for a scale builder of a model. I'm spending my off-the-water-time on flying my RC soaring planes. However, I do like the idea of perhaps carving this out of Balsa? It would be interesting to have Todd draw up the lines for a 3' length model and build into the keel some weight etc., then put in some RC controls. I'm getting motivated about the possibility! But it's too warm to get serious yet!

    1. The full hull model will pry come next winter or the one after that. I'm going to get back the boom tent pretty soon here. I have some new ideas so I'm glad I did not start it yet.
